Michael Norris is a language learning consultant who lives, works and studies in the Phoenix, Arizona area. He likes to encourage multilingualism and promotes access to language learning resources through this website and the Twitter feed @langmosaic.
After graduating from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Minor in Linguistics, Michael spent 18 years in Turkey. During that time he worked in the IT Department of a major national newspaper, established computer consulting and later web consulting businesses, worked as a translator, helped develop a widely sold Turkish-English, English-Turkish CD-ROM dictionary and eventually was Managing Partner of a franchisee responsible for language and cultural localization for a world-class professional training company.
Since 2007, Michael has been working as a project consultant (his day job) in the area of renewable energy. He completed a Master’s degree in Second Language Learning and Educational Technology at the University of Arizona in May of 2020. The program is described here.
